Description
Nuveen Real Estate is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Retail Sector team as an Acquisitions Analyst in New York. This individual will support senior deal team leaders across the Northeast, Midwest, and Mid-Atlantic regions, with additional exposure to transactions nationwide. The Analyst will play a key role in underwriting and evaluating shopping center acquisition opportunities, contributing to investment strategy, and supporting the full lifecycle of real estate transactions.Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Underwriting & Financial Modeling: Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate potential acquisitions, including cash flow projections, sensitivity analyses, and return metrics.
- Investment Memos: Draft clear, concise, and compelling investment memoranda for internal and external stakeholders.
- Market Research: Conduct thorough market and submarket analysis, including demographic trends, competitive landscape, and tenant performance.
- Due Diligence & Closing Support: Assist in coordinating due diligence efforts, including reviewing leases, third-party reports, and legal documentation. Support closing processes and transaction execution.
- Cross-Regional Support: Provide analytical and strategic support to deal teams across other regions as needed
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with acquisitions, asset management, leasing, and finance teams to ensure alignment and execution of investment strategies.

Qualifications:
Required:
- 1-3 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, brokerage, investments, or finance; retail sector experience strongly preferred.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field
- Proficiency in Argus and Excel-based financial modeling is required.
- Strong quantitative skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
