As a Benefits Functional Analyst, you will be central to that mission- investigating and resolving Benefits transactions for Ernst & Young (EY) employees, retirees and COBRA participants.
The opportunity
As a Benefits Functional Analyst Senior Associate, you will primarily focus on one or more areas of Benefits operations. Most inquiries will be complex and escalated from employees, vendors or leadership.
Your key responsibilities include
- Managing and responding to Health & Welfare inquiries in the Total Rewards mailbox
- Reviewing and approving CVS overrides based on firm policy
- Researching appeals and drafting correspondence/responses as appropriate
- Correcting errors on weekly HSA eligibility files to Fidelity, setting up HSA accounts for non-eligible 401(k) participants, reviewing and resolving payroll error reports, notifying Alight and Fidelity of updates/corrections.
- Payroll processing for retro deductions and adjustments for HSA/FSA, Pathways, various benefit elections, and misc. corrections
- Process bill payments for Workers Comp. (legacy carriers), HSA funding, UHC Global, UHC Shared Savings
- Managing SPD updates including solicitating input from subject matter experts, vendors and legal. Coordinating finalized changes with Creative Services and SCORE.
- Interacting with vendors for purposes of researching/resolving issues and coordinating reimbursements
- Providing support to the Health & Welfare team for projects, and other tasks as needed.
- Assisting with Annual Enrollment preparations and communication
- Acting as the backup for Pathways to Parenthood and Pathways to Transition programs for expense reimbursements, inquiries, and reporting.
- Acting as backup support for completing Premium Assistance Forms, Medical/Child Support Notices, State & individual request of Insurance Verification Forms, workers compensation payroll requests
- Resolving General Inquiries about payroll, eligibility, and reissuance of checks
- Coordinating Dependent Eligibility for disabled children for age 23 (Dental & Vision) with EY Personnel, medical provider and Alight
- Assisting with Workers Comp claims, inquiries and reporting
- Provide wage statements and job descriptions upon request
- Assisting with data requests and information on renewals
- Coordinating with Leave Management Team, People Consultants, employees, nurses, worker compensation adjusters and EY accommodations for disability and return to work accommodations.
- Strong knowledge of the firm's business, organizational structure and HRSSC operations
- Ability to provide clients and HRSSC team members with accurate and useful guidance
- Ability to analyze reports from the case management tool to identify trends
- Advanced proficiency with firm standard technology including Windows, Excel, Word, Lotus Notes, Intranet, Case Management tools/tracker, and other APT related applications (e.g. PeopleSoft/Taleo,Infoweb,etc.)
- Ability to identify and resolve client issues to proactively to achieve quality service
- Strong demonstrated ability in effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to facilitate training on new and existing processes to team members
- Minimum of 4-to-6 years of progressive related work experience
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience required
- Bachelor's degree preferred

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $56,600 to $102,700. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $67,900 to $116,700. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
- Under our flexible vacation policy, you'll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
