The Role
As a Val-File Analyst, you will work with multiple groups to deliver their client's yearly valuation files. This includes working with the client and actuary to identify Val-File requirements, the development team to code and fix identified errors, the calculations team to resolve data issues, and the internal client services teams to ensure delivery and facilitate all feedback files.
- Participate in planning activities and other relevant meetings to review the Val-File product and ensure client satisfaction.
- Perform multiple rounds of testing to identify data anomalies, bugs in the code extract, and ensure all SOC-1 controls are followed.
- Provide information and advice on Val-File design or discrepancies and/or provide guidance to solve other plan/client issues.
- Lead multiple projects of medium to high complexity and complete projects on time to support a high quality service delivery.
- Own and analyze operational issues and recommend business solutions, based on knowledge of client's plan design and system functionality.
- Working with internal teams to identify, analyze, and resolve data discrepancies and engine bugs identified through file testing.
- The role will also be responsible for supervising outbound files. Ensure files are complete and delivered based on their scheduled delivery date.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Access, or SQL preferred. A desire to continue your development with these tools is also preferred. Working experience with data analytics is a plus.

- Thorough with strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Expertise in performing and reviewing complex Defined Benefit calculations and/or proficiency and familiarity in working with different Defined Benefit Plan Structures.
- Leadership and problem-solving talents including mentoring and coaching abilities.
- Ability to handle several project-related responsibilities, tasks and deliverables including highly visible, prioritized requests.
- Good communication, both verbal and written; ability to implement/facilitate change.
- Client facing experience. Ability to clearly articulate solutions and design changes to technical and business counterparts.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
This role will reside within Workplace Investing Defined Benefit Operations organization. You will be responsible for handling and leading all aspects of the delivery of Defined Benefit client servicing, business reporting, contractual obligations, and internal scale & efficiency initiatives. You will support DB's interests in collaborating with the cross product/functional SME's, Center of Excellence and other lines of business. We work to solve problems and be empowered to make decisions based on trends, issues, and business drivers.
