Your role
Do you want to keep the financial system protected from criminal organizations, corrupt politicians, sanctioned entities and other bad actors? Are you interested in the intersection between AML, political risk and geopolitics, particularly in East Asia or Latin America?
We are looking for someone who can:
• serve as a Client Intelligence Group (CIG) Officer, leading and coordinating the delivery of complex and time sensitive research products for key internal stakeholders
• independently execute investigative due diligence and risk assessments
• present actionable intelligence on financial crimes, reputational and strategic risks to decision makers
• assist in providing forward-looking intelligence on country risk, business intelligence, sensitive clients and more, using both quantitative and qualitative data frameworks, with a focus on East Asia or Latin America

• Washington, Raleigh, Nashville: the salary range for this role is $91000 to $114000
The expected salary range(s) for this role as of the date of this posting is/are based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, education, location and skill level. Your team
You will be working with the Client Intelligence Group (CIG), in the Americas Financial Crime Prevention function, based in the tristate area (NY-NJ-CT) or Washington, D.C. area. The Financial Crime Prevention team helps UBS in the fight against money-laundering, fraud, corruption and terrorist financing.
Your expertise
• 4-year college degree or equivalent; graduate degree in International Relations, Public Policy/Administration, Finance or Law is preferred
• ideally 5+ years of experience in financial crimes compliance, corporate intelligence/due diligence, or reputational risk position
• sophisticated understanding of common investigative/research methodology and experience with tools for adverse news, litigation, regulatory databases, social media, and relationship mapping research
• experience with Factiva, Lexis Nexis, Voyager, Sayari, Kharon, i2, RStudio
• experience in transaction monitoring look-back and other related investigations, in addition to due diligence, is preferred
• prior experience preparing and delivering political risk analysis focusing on Latin America or East Asia
• expert report writing, communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact with, and present to, all levels of management and regulators
• proficiency language skills (verbal/written/reading) in Spanish or Chinese (Mandarin)
