For more than 25 years, our Business Consulting and Education team has been working hand in hand with Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), leveraging our deep expertise in core business issues to help independent firms achieve their goals and gain competitive advantage.

The Business Consulting and Education (BCE) team ( Business Consulting & Education ) is part of Schwab Advisor Services and creates and delivers high-quality, industry-leading consulting and education programs that help advisors establish and better manage their businesses, in addition to helping them plan and prepare for the future. The key to the team's success lies in its ability to create highly relevant and scalable programs that turn practice management insights into actionable plans that are implemented with new and existing advisors. These programs are delivered by a nationwide team of experienced consultants who work closely with advisors and the Schwab team to deliver interactive workshops as well as a high-touch consulting experience for our clients.

The BCE team delivers thought leadership through industry leading benchmarking white papers and practical resources that help advisors address practice management and compliance needs, including insights from the RIA Benchmarking Study. This role is leading a team of Sr. Technology Consultants who partner with the Advisor Services Sales organization to deliver quality consulting engagements to our RIA clients. This will be accomplished by partnering with Schwab Relationship Managers to identify advisor clients who merit and need help strengthening their cybersecurity programs and optimizing their operations and use of technology.

Key Outcomes:

• Guide, coach and direct the team in delivering in-depth consulting programs to select advisor firms.
• Collaboratively define the overall technology consulting offer.
• Develop strong internal relationships with your Schwab colleagues, including leaders in the sales organization and BCE team.
• Establish and deepen relationships with advisor firms.
• Evaluate and build perspectives for our client's technology, operations, and cybersecurity strategic decisions.
• Presenting at workshops and speaking at conferences.
• Engage, develop, and inspire team members to deliver on a portfolio of consulting engagements while helping them develop as professionals.
• Oversee multiple technology consulting engagements simultaneously, balancing speed and depth of answer with project requirements and stakeholder needs.

**This is a remote position with 75% US travel**

What you have

Required :

• 10+ years of experience within the financial services industry that should include exposure to operations and technology in RIA firms, broker-dealers, and/or related businesses.
• Experience and knowledge of current technology solutions used by RIAs.
• Experience and knowledge of common RIA operational processes.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and frameworks including common risk considerations.
• Have a combination of 10+ years of experience in technology consulting, relationship building, business consulting, and managing multiple complex engagements simultaneously.
• Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to think creatively about innovative technology and operations solutions that position RIAs for success.
• Excellent communication skills that include the ability to translate complex technical concepts into relatable, specific, and actionable plans tailored for the audience.
• Have well-developed presentation and consulting skills, including presenting to executive level management, as well as keynote speaking engagement experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and EQ for building, influencing and maintaining close working relationships with your team, clients, internal partners and stakeholders.
• Exceptional consulting skills with the ability to listen, assess issues, analyze options, solve problems, influence outcomes, and develop win/win solutions.
• Experience staying on top of trends in technology and operations management, and the ability to identify and articulate a POV on trends to both internal and external audiences.
• Able to travel up to 75% of the time.

Preferred:

• MBA or graduate degree
• Direct people leadership experience highly preferred
• Experience applying the Flawless consulting model and Miller Heiman process
