The opportunity
EY Government and Public Sector (GPS) is seeking a talented and experienced ServiceNow Developer/Administrator to join our team. This individual will support the design, development and administration of the ServiceNow platform, including configuration, customization and integration with other enterprise systems. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on ServiceNow development and administration skills, delivers high-quality outcomes with limited supervision, and contributes to a collaborative team environment.
Your key responsibilities
- Configure and manage ServiceNow instances to support business needs and stable platform performance.
- Administer user roles, permissions and security settings in accordance with EY and GPS Enclave policies.
- Perform routine system maintenance, including upgrades, patch management, performance monitoring and health checks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, escalating appropriately and minimizing downtime and operational impact.
- Design, develop and configure workflows, notifications and business rules to streamline IT and business processes.
- Design, develop and customize ServiceNow applications and modules (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, SPM) based on requirements.
- Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, Client Scripts) using ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript/Glide/AngularJS) and platform tools.
- Build and maintain forms, reports and dashboards that enable stakeholders to monitor performance and outcomes.
- Implement and support integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems (REST/SOAP, Import Sets, data transforms), ensuring secure and reliable data exchange.
- Evaluate progress on tasks and adjust approach as needed; organize work to appropriately prioritize multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Apply understanding of client needs to identify critical outcomes, barriers to success and changes in expectations or scope; take responsibility for meeting client needs.
- Support quality and risk management by identifying potential issues with applicable standards and policies, documenting work appropriately and maintaining independence and objectivity.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for complex incidents and requests; debug issues efficiently and document resolutions in the knowledge base.
- Promote knowledge sharing by contributing reusable assets, leading practices and guidance; communicate facts, options and analyses clearly and concisely.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by providing honest, supportive feedback and helping colleagues use the correct methodology, approach, protocol or practice.
- Identify and promote opportunities for process improvements and automation that improve efficiency and user experience.
- Strong ServiceNow development skills, including scripting, workflows, business rules and UI policies.
- Experience with ServiceNow integrations (REST, SOAP, Import Sets) and data transformation patterns.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow Studio, Service Portal and platform development tools.
- Knowledge of reporting, dashboards and performance analytics; ability to present insights from data.
- Demonstrated focus on quality: asks critical questions, identifies potential issues early and consistently reviews work for improvements.
- Ability to produce complete and accurate deliverables with limited supervision; proactively manages priorities and stakeholder expectations.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; proposes credible suggestions and options that resolve business challenges.
- Clear, concise communication-able to present facts, options and analyses effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborative teaming: contributes optimism toward work challenges, provides supportive feedback and helps colleagues follow the correct methodology/practice.

- Understanding of US Government expectations for IT control environments and compliance (where applicable to engagements).

- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer and/or Administrator.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, SPM (as applicable).
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in relevant modules (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, SPM).
- Experience designing solutions with governance, risk and compliance considerations in regulated environments.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $67,900 to $123,300. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $81,500 to $140,100. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
