Role Description
The US Learning & Development team designs, develops and deploys technical and non-technical learning to EY professionals across the US to help them grow their skills and accelerate their careers. We are responsible for delivering an exceptional learning experience to our learners through the planning and delivery of high-quality programs.
Role:
This role works with business leaders to define, prioritize and manage the US learning & development (L&D) curriculum for a specific portfolio under US learning. Assess and prioritize skill needs for specific domains, provide advice, and determine the most effective learning solutions to improve performance. Manage and oversee the design, development, curation, maintenance, implementation, and evaluation of the learning & development programs. Manage business relationships, collaborate across the learning & development team to avoid duplication, ensuring learning needs are captured in the learning & development curricula and aligned with business strategy.
This role supports our Tax Practice, focusing on Global Compliance Reporting (GCR). GCR helps organizations manage tax, accounting, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accurate filings, risk mitigation, and efficient reporting processes. The team supports clients with statutory reporting, tax provision, payroll, and global engagement management. Knowledge of the GCR sub-service line is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
L&D planning/curricula/priorities:
- Responsible for partnering with the business and managing relationships for a specific portfolio within a Service Line.
- Work proactively to understand the direction of the internal business client, the required skills and knowledge of their people and to define and maintain effective L&D curricula to enable their business priorities and strategy.
- Capture and assess needs from business stakeholders, validate and prioritize L&D requests, provide recommendations to address any skills gaps and design an L&D curriculum & plan for the business.
- Validate and prioritize L&D needs and to help form the annual plan and budget.
- Manage and maintain the curriculum and catalog for their portfolio, including aligning with Global catalogs, where applicable.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge and awareness of other courses, programs, and curricula being maintained or built within the Service Line, cross-Service Line, and firmwide as it may impact and/or influence the L&D priority needs with stakeholders.
- Manage the intake process of new L&D needs through discussions with the business, input into the annual budget, input into the L&D intake process, and any other tracking mechanisms.
- Curate, design and develop learning courses and development programs aligned with firm strategy.
- Oversee and execute on the end-to-end development of L&D builds within your portfolio area(s), ensuring adherence to budget constraints and process requirements. This may include upskilling Subject Matter Resource(s) ("SMR(s)") on the learning processes, timing and Continuing professional Education ("CPE") requirements, branding, among other areas and based on the knowledge of your SMR(s).
- Ensure the business provides the inputs and SMR(s) needed and with necessary capacity to start and run L&D design initiatives according to project plan and timing needs.
- Partner with business SMR(s), L&D Design Studio (if applicable) or vendors, the L&D Deployment team to ensure that agreed L&D solutions are curated, designed, developed, and deployed as planned to achieve required business outcomes.
- Collaborate with SMR(s) and Design Studio to think innovatively and contribute to the endeavor of learning design, with our L&D brand, goals, and vision in mind.
- Conduct reviews of content which may include content mapping/CPE requirement reviews and Design Quality reviews, where applicable.
- Complete or collect all documentation required for internal quality processes.
- Manage course publication process to ensure course is cataloged within our Learning Management System ("LMS").
- Manage and execute the end-to-end vendor management process to include BRIDGE, Procurement, vendor course submissions in the LMS (where applicable), if vendors (design vendors or purchased content) are within your portfolio area.
- Maintain vendor relationships with key vendor contacts who provide input into your L&D curricula and/or domains, where applicable.
- Collaborate with L&D deployment team to develop a deployment plan for learning courses and programs.
- Manage the annual review cycle for courses within your portfolio, including maintenance or retirement of courses.
- Report progress on solution development, deployment, consumption, satisfaction, and impact of learning.
- Create and maintain reporting dashboards for specific courses and programs, where applicable
- When applicable, work with Risk Management to ensure learning completions are monitored and reporting is provided.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of programs. Provides analysis, reports and recommendations based on findings. Report analysis results and provide recommendations for changes to leadership.
- Communicate L&D prioritization and budget/planning decisions to business leaders, learning sponsors/champions. Resolve issues of conflict or disagreement, working with other L&D colleagues across regions and Service Lines, where applicable.
- Manage communication with business stakeholders on the L&D portfolio overall to ensure they are updated on the status of L&D initiatives throughout the lifecycle.
- Manage communication with business stakeholders on broader L&D initiatives and priorities/events
- Deliver reporting to agreed business and/or talent stakeholders on consumption, effectiveness, etc. as required.
- Work to assign various learning to learners within our LMS, when applicable.
- Promote and enforce a strong 'one team' culture in L&D and working with other leaders to build one high performing team.
- Liaise on a regular cadence with your Global Learning colleagues to review learning needs and builds to collaborate, leverage learning, and avoid duplication of effort.
- Build and maintain effective relationships outside of L&D but linked to your portfolio area(s) (e.g., Talent Development, Strategic Talent Consultants, Knowledge, Operations teams, Risk Management)
- Liaise with other teams within the L&D organization such as Leadership Development, Deployment, Design Studio, Digital Experience and Behavioral Science & Insights (BS&I) teams, where needed.
- Escalate issues/needs and suggested solutions to your SL/SSL Learning / Pillar Lead for review and discussion on the appropriate action.
- Lead and motivate team members. Review the performance of junior team members.
- Makes recommendations to leadership and is able to implement new ideas, improvements, technologies and new products
- Where required, lead or participate in strategic L&D or L&D operational change initiatives. Projects may be firm-wide or tailored to a SL.
- Participate in and/or lead areas of large complex events and site builds that may be strategic in nature and require a significant amount of time and effort, based on complexity, audience, and content requirements.
- Manage ad hoc requests for learning to ensure that high priority ad hoc requests are reviewed with your learning governance to determine priority over existing needs. If deemed not a priority, offer alternative solutions for non-priority learning.
- Strong project management skills - the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the L&D team and Non-US Regional teams to deliver quality and timely solutions to clients; manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced and highly challenging environment
- Strong internal client-facing experience and skills. The ability to forge strong relationships with senior leaders to understand their business priorities, influence from a whole world point of view, and to help achieve them through talent and learning solutions
- Strong consulting skills - the ability to understand and challenge client requirements to determine the most appropriate solutions and address the business needs and/or collaborate across Talent to ensure learning is the appropriate solution provider
- Strong organizational skills - the ability to set priorities, allocate budget and work within effective time frames
- Strong influencing and communication skills - maturity to interact with senior leaders in the organization, and (where required) to resolve issues or challenges as they arise. Ability to present on your courses, programs, and curricula, when needed, with executive presence. Being able to speak our client's language so that they build trust in our understanding of the business.
- Strong collaboration skills - work effectively with other members of the Learning & Development team ensuring clients' needs and expectations are met

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $96,300 to $180,100. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $115,600 to $204,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
