Title: Associate Lead Analyst 1
Location: 7 World Trade Center, 250 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007
Duties: Analyze credit aspects of structured finance transactions, including transaction structure, legal documents, and deal-level financial modeling to formulate and substantiate independent credit opinions and assign ratings. Communicate model transparency to external arrangers and model transactions. Prepare committee memos and present transactions and analysis to rating committees. Provide indenture transparency and questions to external arrangers and follow up as needed to responses. Identify trends and write insightful and relevant credit research. Contribute to various special research projects, develop in-depth knowledge of the asset class, and pursue thought leadership initiatives to enhance analytics, outreach, and research impact. Initiate and contribute to various special projects to increase ratings process efficiency. Develop knowledge of methodologies to apply to various analyses and demonstrate ability to understand and identify key factors that affect credit ratings. Direct internal deal volume tracking pipeline management, closely monitor market trends, and review regular market reports sent to senior management. Lead drafting of pre-sale and new issue reports that explain transaction analysis and features. Perform extensive model reviews for peers to ensure modeling accuracy. Perform post-closing work, including record retention and filing addendum with the committee.
Requirements: Requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field plus three (3) years of experience as an Analyst or in a related position performing credit analysis in a financial services firm. Must have experience with the following: conducting quantitative financial modeling and statistical analysis; analyzing credit impact of macro-economic events; presenting credit analyses internally and externally; leading credit committee discussions; authoring credit opinions, issuer analyses, or internal research memos; applying knowledge of capital markets and structures; and reviewing legal documents, including indentures and loan documents, with a focus on credit.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $148,304 to $168,850/yr, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
