Skills and Competencies
- Minimum of 4 years of experience (manager or equivalent level attained in large public accounting firm or external reporting function at a large publicly traded company preferred). A combination of public accounting and industry experience preferred
 - CPA required
 - Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting
 - Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate complicated accounting transactions and disclosure items to non-accounting members of senior management
 - Exceptional writing skills that will be utilized in drafting complex disclosures
 - Strategic thinker/ability to effectuate meaningful change/efficiencies
 - Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use.

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
 
Responsibilities
The Senior Manager, Financial Reporting will be a key member of the Controller's group and will help manage Moody's external reporting function. The position will focus heavily SEC reporting (Form 10-K/Form 10-Q) and will work closely with senior management in the Finance organization.
- Key member of the external reporting group, fostering "best-in class" disclosures in the Company's quarterly SEC filings (including XBRL reporting)
 - Assist in managing monthly and quarterly senior management and BOD reporting packages (including preparation of the Company's consolidated statement of cash flows)
 - Prepare and assist in presenting the Company's financial results to senior management on a monthly basis
 - Participate in transformation and technology enablement initiatives that impact the external reporting function, mainly through process improvement and automation, including the use of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools such as Alteryx, data visualization tools such as Power BI, and AI tools such as Copilot and Copilot Studio
 - Collaborate closely with the Corporate Planning and Investor Relations teams on quarterly earnings releases and related communications/messaging
 - Assist with monthly accounting for stock-based compensation, including documentation of key award valuation assumptions and other related complex transactions impacting equity compensation (e.g. M&A, grant modifications)
 - Lead transformation initiatives that impact the external reporting function
 - Collaborate cross-functionally with Corporate Planning, General Accounting, Tax, and other teams within Moody's to obtain and develop key reporting insights
 - Assist with all U.S. statutory reporting (e.g. ERISA and Captive Insurance financial statements)
 - Assist with various ad-hoc projects
 
About the Team
The Sr. Manager, Financial Reporting is a key member of Moody's Controllership team. This department is responsible for all aspects of external financial reporting and assists in providing senior management with the financial information needed for strategic decisions.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $112,000.00 - $162,400.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
