The Business Strategy team within Schwab's Client Service & Support (CS&S) organization enables leaders across the service organization to explore and set strategy, prioritize our investments, understand the perspective of our clients, and tell our strategic story along the way. As a Manager, Business Operations, you will be charged with delivering thoughtful and insightful contributions across a range of high-stakes strategic results for the service organization. You will work across the Retail organization alongside senior leaders and a hardworking team of strategy and industry veterans who are defining the Schwab of the future.
As Manager, Business Operations you will:
- Executive reporting and business insights: Lead delivery of recurring executive reporting, produce narratives for executive presentations and synthesize data into insights for senior leadership
- Senior Leadership Team (SLT) Operating rhythm: Support the cadence of recurring forums including agenda design, content coordination and alignment on meeting objectives, partner with senior leaders and presenters to finalize content, monitor and track progress and follow-ups
- Manage business initiatives: Partner with cross-functional teams to drive actions and deliver results, driving action through advocacy for CS&S, balancing multiple and potentially conflicting priorities and identifying dependencies
- Influence, coordinate and communicate: Work across leaders and teams to ensure clarity of priorities and cross-functional dependencies as needed
- Logistics and administrative flow: Coordination and support for leadership meetings and offsites, ensuring calendar management, preparation cycle and pre-reads
- Process: Standardize templates, workflows and processes that improve the efficiency, predictability and quality of SLT operations
- Strategy: Support on the design of the CS&S Annual Strategy and ad hoc strategic analysis as required
- Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the Director, Business Strategy and broader leadership team
- Develop a thorough understanding of CS&S practices and approaches
Please note: this is a hybrid 4-days in-office position during standard business hours Monday- Friday.
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent
- Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, creativity in problem solving, and attention to detail with 2+ years of experience within strategy or an operations function, and experience in Financial Services (ideally at Schwab or in Contact Centers)
- Strong team-oriented mindset, able to focus on team-goals and both leverage and contribute to a peer-support team model
- Demonstrated success supporting delivery for concurrent projects
- Proven ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
- Confidence dealing with ambiguity in a dynamic and fast paced work environment
- Ability to interpret and analyze data to support decision making
- Personally, and professionally aligned with Schwab's vision and values, and a strong interest in financial services
Preferred Qualifications:
- Self-motivated and driven, with a relentless pursuit to follow through from start to execution
- Strong communication skills, research driven, and attention to detail
- Structuring complex business problems, validating hypothesis through analysis and telling a compelling story for senior leadership
- Thrive on initiating, building, and cultivating strong authentic relationships inside and outside the group, navigates and activates alignment across organizational silos
- Hunger to learn about our retail business, our processes, and our reps' needs
- Working independently to deliver insights in a fast-paced and ever evolving environment
