Your OpportunityManaging Director, Head of Asset Management Infrastructure
The Managing Director, Head of Asset Management Infrastructure is a key leader within Schwab Asset Management (SAM) responsible for establishing the infrastructure and data strategy for the asset management and research businesses. This person leads a team of digital product managers, data analysts (including business intelligence analysts) and data governance professionals who are collectively responsible for the product roadmap, functional requirements and delivery execution of all applications and data platforms dedicated to SAM and its registered product, managed investing (MI) and research programs. This leader is also responsible for administering SAM's artificial intelligence (AI) program as an extension of Schwab's broader AI program. This person leads the various teams and sets the strategy to ensure SAM and its activities are in close alignment with the Schwab corporate standards and strategy.
Key Outcomes:
- Define and support a strategic direction and vision for SAM's platform and data infrastructure aligning offer, business and technology objectives, while managing a dynamic portfolio of critical initiatives and projects spanning across SAM and the broader Schwab organization.
- Create a long-term roadmap and strategic vision for the business intelligence and asset management artificial intelligence that is aligned with the broader Schwab corporation's strategy.
- Own core functional areas for the platform and the support of all offers and features.
- Lead a team of digital application and data professionals through establishing a team structure, clear roles and responsibilities, strategic objectives and guiding principles.
- Collaborate with cross-enterprise senior leaders and their teams in multiple business areas to form trusted partnerships and align on key priorities, strategic objectives and deliverables.
- Serve as SAM liaison to the central Schwab Data organization to ensure SAM needs are considered in enterprise data strategy, to support central governance, and to maintain a connection to the broader Schwab data & analytics community.
- Define and implement a data, asset management, artificial intelligence, business intelligence and platform development operating model aligning Schwab's best practices, Schwab's strategy and SAM business needs.
- Delivering outcomes aligned with Schwab's corporate standards related to agile development, data governance and application oversight.
- Partner with technology leadership to develop and oversee the implementation of an optimal agile product development lifecycle for application design, development, testing and deployment.
- Serve as the vendor relationship owner for certain platform third-party applications used by SAM.
What you have
Required experience:
- 15+ years asset management data, artificial intelligence and product management expertise and the experience to maintain and scale sophisticated registered and MI products.
- Deep knowledge of the technologies, infrastructure and tools that deliver asset management capabilities.
- Proven experience developing and implementing asset management data management strategies.
- Proven experience building and delivering robust product and platform capabilities and scaling across multiple channels and experience.
- Exceptional strategic ability for gathering and interpreting complex data, industry and competitor insights to shape the priorities and execution efforts for transformation.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills and high adaptability in managing an emerging platform through new and evolving consumer trends.
- Effective in managing business risk through assessing risk probability and impact, developing processes for risk mitigation and detection in rollout and test plans, and scenario planning.
- Bachelor's degree required. Post graduate degree is a plus.

- Experience managing multiple priorities and overseeing distinct teams with varied skills. Proven ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder and nuanced interpersonal issues and balance priorities of different stakeholders with resilience while embracing others' perspectives.
- Strong emotional intelligence/maturity and senior level executive presence. Thrives on initiating, building, and cultivating strong authentic relationships inside and outside the group.
- Exceptional manager and motivator of people and teams who can build organizational capacity through a combination of proper organizational structure, hiring, training, and recruiting the best talent available.
- Experience in leading significant organizational change and developing and executing strategies driving adoption and usage of new and existing offers and services.
- Extensive business knowledge with highly effective influencing skills and outstanding planning experience.
- Highly developed communication and presentations skills with a superior ability to effectively communicate and present complex concepts and issues to leadership teams in a highly compelling, persuasive, fact-based manner.
- Experienced in effectively assessing, selecting, and developing talent for the firm; adept at providing balanced, direct, and actionable feedback to employees.
- Confidence and courage in business and talent decisions, actions, and communications with a demonstrated ability to take decisive action when needed including championing ideas, position, or dissent.
