The Retirement Plan Services Technology group builds and maintains the applications and platforms that power Schwab's retirement plan business-one of the leading providers of retirement solutions for medium to large-sized companies across the U.S.

As a .NET Developer, you'll be a hands-on technical contributor and collaborative team member, helping design, build, and support scalable software solutions that support retirement plan administration. You'll work closely with engineers, testers, product owners, and agile partners to deliver high-quality, reliable applications in a fast-moving and supportive environment.
You'll contribute across the full software development lifecycle, bringing both technical expertise and a mindset of continuous improvement. We're looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, and motivated to build software that makes a difference. Success in this role comes from strong technical fundamentals, clear communication, and a willingness to learn and adapt.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, test, and support software applications that enable retirement plan administration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Participate in system design discussions and contribute to defining technical requirements.
- Build and maintain automated tests to support quality and reliability.
- Release applications to production on a regular cadence using modern CI/CD practices.
- Provide production support for applications that require high availability and reliability.
- Share knowledge, mentor others, and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence.
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of experience designing and developing applications using .NET.
- Experience applying object-oriented design principles.
- Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and building SOAP and REST-based services.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum or Kanban).
- 3+ years of experience working with Delphi.
- Utilization of AI to perform coding tasks preferred.
- Experience with test-driven development and automated testing strategies.
- Familiarity with tools such as GitHub and the Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo).
- Experience with front-end or distributed systems technologies such as Angular, microservices, or cloud-native architectures.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and modern deployment models.
- Experience in the financial services industry.
