Job Description:The Role
In Workplace Investing, the Pension Analyst blends deep Defined Benefit domain expertise with a passion for teamwork, innovation and client management. The Analyst will support the strategic direction of the business, lead highly complex issues to resolution and work with domain professionals to solution client improvements and enhancements through corporate actions & change orders. The Analyst will also engage with other lines of business on projects that affect other Defined Benefit products and services.
The Pension Analyst plays an integral role in operational analytics, workflow, team leadership, and project management for client projects and internal initiatives. They will assist Client Managers and Sr. Leaders with initiatives throughout the year, including but not limited to:
- Analyze, lead and drive operational services and efficiencies to our clients and organization's bottom line.
- Provide leadership on ad hoc client or internal projects that will require critical thinking and self-direction.
- Provide information and advice on Plan documentation discrepancies and/or guidelines, e.g. data, provisional, or other plan/client issues.
- Analyze, review, and guide client teams to the resolution of escalated client or participant issues.
- Where applicable, serve as the day-to-day contact for issues to clients and participant for problem resolution, transaction issues, and data questions. Facilitate and/or participant in client meetings.
- Serve as a team leader and expert guide on multiple client plan processes, procedures and calculations. Maintain client direction documents.
- Own and analyze operational issues and recommend business solutions, based on knowledge of client's plan design and system functionality. Work with internal teams to identify, analyze, and implement process and procedural changes based on new regulatory amendments and/or administrative improvements.
- Play a significant role in implementation, corporate actions and/or other special projects in addition to the provision of ongoing services. Ensure defects are identified, corrected and tested.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5-7+ years of defined benefit/pension plan administration experience.
- Experience in Project Management and/or Analytics. Ability to run queries, analyze and organize large amounts of data and identify root cause and work towards solutions.
- Ability to balance day-to-day management of several project related responsibilities and tasks including highly prioritized requests.
- Demonstrate leadership ability with self-motivation and determination and ability to coach and mentor others.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills including ability to perform complex manual calculations within Defined Benefit Plan structures.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access and working experience with data analytics.
- Client Management experience including requirement discovery and solution design.
The Team
This role will reside within Workplace Investing Defined Benefit Operations organization. You will be responsible for handling and overseeing the day-to-day delivery of Defined Benefit client servicing, business reporting, contractual obligations, and internal scale & efficiency initiatives. You will support DB's interests in collaborating with the cross product/functional SME's, Center of Excellence and other lines of business. You will work to solve problems and be empowered to make decisions based on trends, issues, and business drivers.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
