Job Description:The Team
Fidelity Wealth Group - Core Wealth Platform Technology is looking for a Principal Data Engineer to drive the development of software solutions for its business-critical Executive Services Product Area. Our engineering team is innovative, diverse, passionate and dedicated. We work in a dynamic agile environment.
The Role
As a Principal Data Engineer, your primary role will be to design, build, and maintain the systems and pipelines that allow Executive Services to collect, process and integrate data across multiple systems, making it accessible to be used by ES solutions. You will be expected to quickly gain understanding of the business needs and collaborate with the domain and solution architects to implement the next generation platform for the Executive Services.
The Expertise You Have
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and a proven foundation in data analysis and engineering
- 8+ years of experience in database using Oracle and Snowflake
- Strong expertise in SQL is a must
- Experience with ETL technologies for reporting and analytics solutions.
- Familiarity and good understanding of Data Models - relational and dimension models is required
- Experience with delivering data services using Java
- Hands-on experience building scalable, resilient, and cost-effective data products (preferably on AWS)
- Demonstrated experience developing, debugging and tuning complex SQL statements, and writing PL/SQL.
- API experience is required.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, Deploying applications in DevOps environment
- Ability to data-mine and troubleshoot issues and propose effective solutions
- Good understanding of Data modelling and ETL/ELT concepts/tools.
- Should possess the ability to understand the business concepts and relate it to the technical solutions
- Ability to validate, monitor, and solve issues during development, testing, or in production.
- Ability to think out of box and craft end-to-end solutions
- Passion and intellectually curiosity to learn new technologies and business areas
- Proven track record of dealing with ambiguity and work in fast paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both through written and verbal channels
- Excellent collaboration skills to work with multiple teams in the organization
- Building and supporting mission critical applications to provide the best customer experience
- Exploring new technology trends and using them to simplify our data ecosystem
- Collaborating with internal and external teams to deliver technology solutions for the business needs
- Working on teams to improve development agility and efficiency
- Delivering system automation by setting up continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines
