In this role, you will identify and define user/customer requirements, focusing on developing user interfaces (UI) across various platforms such as mobile, web, and tablets. You will be responsible for creating software components and services that interact seamlessly with upstream and downstream components, ensuring that business requirements are met through effective coding and programming.
Your key responsibilities
As an SAP ABAP Senior, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative SAP solutions. Your time will be spent on various responsibilities, including:
- Collaborating with clients to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring that the final product meets their needs.
- Designing and developing user interfaces that are not only functional but also enhance user experience.
- Writing clean, maintainable code and creating specifications that support business objectives.
Skills and attributes for success
To excel in this role, you should possess a blend of technical and interpersonal skills. The following attributes will make a significant impact:
- Designing, developing, testing, and enhancing SAP ABAP objects, including reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
- Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable ABAP code in accordance with SAP and EY development standards.
- Working effectively with functional, integration, and technical teams to support end‑to‑end SAP solutions.
- Lead and deliver quality SAP projects or workstreams.
- Strong understanding of agile delivery and development methodologies.
- Proficiency in application development tools and quality assurance practices.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas with clarity.
- A bachelor's degree (4-year degree).
- Typically, no less than 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in SAP ABAP development and SAP programming.
- Strong expertise in ABAP, including object-oriented programming, modularization techniques, and debugging/troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, and enhancing ABAP objects such as reports, interfaces, forms, enhancements, and data dictionary objects (tables, views, data elements).
- Proficiency in SAP Fiori/UI5, including integration with ABAP back-end services.
- Experience developing and consuming SAP Web Services and OData services for system integration.
- Working knowledge of SAP platforms and modules, including SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC, and their integration with ABAP solutions.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices in ABAP development environment.
- Knowledge of database management systems and data modeling concepts relevant to ABAP development.
- Exposure to SAP technologies such as XI/PI/PO, Solution Manager, SAP LT, Data Services, and SAP Security.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client service, presentation, and technical documentation.
- A flexibility and willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 40-60%.
- Prior experience in a consulting or professional services environment.
- SAP certification(s).
- Experience in complex problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Strong emotional agility and the ability to collaborate in hybrid environments.
- A proactive approach to learning and adapting to new technologies.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $102,500 to $187,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $122,900 to $213,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
- Under our flexible vacation policy, you'll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You'll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
