The Role:
The Core Wealth Platform Financial Insights Delivery team supporting Insights and Analytics data needs across the Retail and Workplace is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to design, develop, and implement AWS data driven infrastructure and applications. This role is critical in delivering Fidelity's promise of creating the best customer experience in the industry. Apart from cloud-based data application development, you will get exposure to our CI/CD deployment infrastructure, Agile development tools and procedures, relational (and non-relational) database technologies, and technology leadership opportunities.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring:
- 10+ years in designing, developing, installing, and supporting Enterprise quality applications
- 5+ years of hands-on development experience with:
- Building applications on AWS using HA and DR best practices
- Oracle PL/SQL packages and SQL performance tuning
- Relational Data Modeling
- Python or Scala
- DynamoDB or other NoSQL Databases
- Data Streaming using Kafka, Kinesis or similar
Proficient in Java, ideally with a micro-services development background- Experience with Snowflake is a plus
- Experience working in a DevOps and CI/CD environment
- Experience developing in an Agile team setting (Kanban and/or SCRUM)
- AWS Developer certification
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- Ability to think out of box and design end-to-end solutions
- Passion and intellectually curious to learn new technologies and implement robust, scalable solutions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent collaboration skills to work with multiple teams in the organization
