The Retail Web Technology (RWT) organization leads the development and maintenance of Schwab's premier digital platform for retail clients - individual investors just like you. Our team is seeking a talented Software Engineer Senior, who embraces being technical leader and has a real passion for using state of the art web technologies to build compelling interactive web applications. As our Software Developer Senior, you will need to be a self-starter who partners well with others. This role is all about getting the job done, so you have a can/will do mentality about all tasks associated with getting phenomenal code out the door. You prioritize mentoring your teammates and you ask for help when needed. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead the development team through the design, development, testing, and debugging processes.
- Work closely with management and other stakeholders to document and shape business requirements and translate those into technical requirements the development team can act on.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of full-stack web development experience, with an emphasis on front-end development
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Professional level experience with Angular, TypeScript, and client side MV* frameworks, along with high confidence using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Hands on experience with PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry) CI/CD build pipelines, and Bamboo deployments along with Release preparation and coordination. Experience using/migrating to GitHub.
- Highly skilled with C#/.NET Core development. And Proficiency in creating and consuming SOAP and RESTful services. (should be interested in learning backend too)
- Understands security and code quality tools like Veracode and SonarQube.
- An exacting attention to detail and the talent and enthusiasm for producing highly usable and scalable web software solutions using advanced development technologies.
- Proven technical and business communication skills at various organizational levels.
- Confidence solving problems in a dynamic customer-focused team environment that uses the newest technologies and techniques.
- A commitment to regularly improving your technical and professional skills, learning emerging technologies and growing as valued team member.
- Familiarity with unit testing patterns (TDD/BDD) and methodologies.
- Application performance evaluation and tuning skills, and deep level understanding of TTI (Time To Interactive) analysis and improvements. Need to have experience with Akamai mPulse for RUM (Real User Metric) monitoring.
- Thorough understanding and expertise on software like SPLUNK to analyze the data and logs of the applications.
- Knowledge of authorization frameworks (e.g., OAuth 2, SAML, JWT).
Preferred qualifications :
- Familiarity with ALTO and Everest framework/standards.
- Understanding of Financial and Estate planning products.
- Involved in onboarding and mentoring interns to the team.
- Understanding of Agile software development principles, including experience participating in a Scrum-based delivery team.
