The Senior Manager for the Fair and Responsible Banking (F&RB) team at Charles Schwab Bank is responsible for implementing client outreach strategies and coordinating events designed to increase awareness of Charles Schwab Bank's (CSB) lending products among diverse audiences. The Manager will partner with the Regional Banking Managers, Financial Consultants and Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) to implement multicultural client outreach strategies. The Senior Manager is part of the Fair and Responsible Banking (F&RB) team and will liaison closely with the Fair and Responsible Banking Team. Success for this role will be measured by metrics including attendance at events, consideration of lending offers, and increased lending in diverse neighborhoods and clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Support the regional and local implementation of Schwab's client and community outreach initiatives to increase fair access to credit for diverse segments.
- Promote Bank awareness with clients and communities by organizing events with local partners including Chambers of Commerce, arts and culture, sports, and not-for-profit organizations to hold client engagement events in local markets.
- Develop signature sponsorship and client education programs in local markets.
- Raise awareness of Schwab's lending offerings and educational content to diverse clients and prospects by coordinating workshops, presentations, and client appreciation events both virtually and in-person.
- Partner with Regional Banking Managers, Financial Consultants and other Schwab professionals to represent Schwab Bank at client events and to refer clients for follow-up on complex financial needs.
- Lead event tracking and reporting through Salesforce. Prepare regular management reporting.
- Participate reporting and communication on the effectiveness of F&RB initiatives while communicating the success of these efforts to senior leadership.
What you have
Required
- Bachelor's Degree
- 4+ years of relationship management experience with mortgage or small business development.
- Experience leading initiatives to increase credit for diverse or underserved communities.
- Experience leading community, mortgage, or small business outreach programs.
Preferred
- Fluency in written and spoken Spanish.
- Two to three years working directly with retail banking or investment clients.
Skills and Knowledge
- Experience with multicultural sales or outreach to diverse communities related to mortgage or small business lending.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially the ability to learn and explain complicated subjects, build quality, long-term relationships, and conduct needs-based conversations with a variety of clients.
- Strong internal and external client focus, including the ability to think in terms of the perspectives of diverse clients.
- Ability to partner across teams and business units to develop client facing and community programs.
- Strong presentation skills and comfort in facilitation to a wide range of audiences and groups of various sizes (including large audiences).
- Ability to simplify financial planning topics, to help clients turn advice into action.
- Ability to travel while effectively managing events in multiple locations.
