Schwab's Workplace Services (WS) team is responsible for serving client needs across our Retirement Plan Services (RPS), Stock Plan Services (SPS), and Designated Brokerage Services businesses.. The Senior Product Manager, SPS International Participants will be responsible for managing and evolving a defined set of international participant capabilities within SPS, ensuring compliant global delivery, strong execution, and alignment with broader SPS product and financial wellness product strategy.
You will focus on ownership and delivery of international participant offers, operating within the strategic direction set by SPS Product leadership and partner closely with cross-functional teams to support multinational SPS Issuers and their non-U.S. participants across the full participant lifecycle, including enrollment, vesting, settlement, taxation, and post-event servicing.
Responsibilities
The Senior Product Manager, SPS International Participants serves as the product owner for international participant-facing SPS capabilities, with accountability for execution, performance, risk alignment, and continuous improvement across supported countries and regions.
International Offer Strategy & Execution
- Own offer-level goals, performance metrics, and delivery plans for international participant products, including enrollment, ongoing service, and lifecycle events.
- Drive enhancements to support country-specific participation requirements, including securities eligibility, exchange controls, and local settlement constraints.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve international participant experience while maintaining regulatory and operational integrity.
International Participant Product Lifecycle Management
- Manage the ongoing lifecycle of international participant offers, including roadmap planning, feature prioritization, and country specific expansions.
- Partner with Technology and Digital teams to deliver enhancements such as localized workflows, document capture, and jurisdiction-specific participant disclosures.
- Support evaluation and execution of offer changes driven by regulatory updates, tax law changes, or market expansion strategies.
International Enrollment & Participant Access
- Lead and partner with Digital on international participant enrollment experiences, including identity verification, eligibility validation, and country-specific onboarding requirements.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Operations to ensure enrollment flows align with local securities, employment, and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
- Drive clarity and consistency in participant communications, including localized language, disclosures, and education materials.
Tax (TAC) & Regulatory Guidance Support
- Serve as product lead for localized tax treatment (TAC) visibility, ensuring participant-facing materials reflect country-specific taxation timing, withholding, and reporting considerations.
- Partner with Tax, Legal, and external advisors to support compliant handling of income recognition events (grant, vest, exercise, sale) across jurisdictions.
- Ensure international participants offer support required documentation, reporting, and auditability for local tax and regulatory obligations.
Transfer on Death (ToD) & Post-Event Servicing
- Lead international transfer on death (ToD) and beneficiary-related capabilities, accounting for jurisdictional inheritance, probate, and securities transfer requirements.
- Partner with Operations and Legal to ensure consistent, compliant processing of post-death events for non-U.S. participants.
- Identify gaps or risks in current processes and drive enhancements to improve clarity, efficiency, and participant experience.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead cross-functional working teams across Technology, Operations, Legal & Compliance, Risk, Tax, and Marketing to deliver international participant outcomes.
- Coordinate with PR, marketing, and field enablement teams to manage product launches, enhancements, and communications related to international participant capabilities.
- Act as a subject matter expert for international stock plan administration in internal forums and client discussions.
Market Positioning & Pricing
- Develop strategies and positioning plans to maximize market penetration and competitive advantage
- Assess market penetration and adjust positioning to strengthen competitive differentiation
- Communicate product value propositions clearly to internal and external stakeholders
- Identify and address gaps in the product portfolio.
Financial & Governance Management
- If applicable, support vendor oversight and third-party relationships related to global tax, regulatory, and operational services.
- Ensure all offer changes adhere to SPS governance, risk management, and compliance standards.
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in equity compensation, stock plan services, global financial services, or product/offer management.
- Demonstrated experience supporting international or cross-border stock plan participants.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally across legal, tax, operations, and technology teams.
- Strong client-facing skills and ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into executable product solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Undergraduate degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multinational issuers and non-U.S. equity plan administration.
- Familiarity with global tax, securities, and exchange control considerations impacting stock plans.
- Prior experience in Workplace Services or Stock Plan Services environments.
- Advanced degree.
