Senior System Engineer
The Role
The role is for a Mainframe systems Engineer who will address business incidents by aligning them to the Fidelity Record Keeping system. The role will provide in-depth understanding of Defined Contribution domain with an opportunity to work with business while still being deeply connected to technology. This role requires the ability to perform Production and non- production Support work as well as the ability to research and resolve issues related to application abends, and infrastructure changes for Fidelity Recordkeeping applications. These applications are critical for daily processing. The applications run in Fidelity's mainframe environment, and the applicant should be familiar with mainframe application technology including COBOL, Assembler 370, JCL, DB2, VSAM, MVS, Endeavor ISPF, TSO, EASYTRIEVE, CICS, Control-M, and basic IBM utilities.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- 10 years' experience in Mainframe development/enhancement/support. Cobol, Assembler 370, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS is a must.
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience required
- Production support experience with financial systems is a must.
• Must be experienced in developing and maintaining systems in the MVS mainframe environment. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with COBOL, Assembler 370, JCL, EASYTRIEVE, DB2, VSAM, MVS, Endeavor, ISPF, TSO, CICS, Control-M, and basic IBM utilities. Experience coding, testing, and implementing COBOL and Assembler 370 solutions. Must be capable of learning complex processes quickly and can learn through independent research. Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently. The applicant should demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to learn and work quickly to meet business deadlines. Ability to triage incidents. Familiar with Cobol DB2 code review. Familiar with any debugging tool. Preferably Intertest. Mainframe MQ and Azure ADF pipeline knowledge is a plus.
The Team
The Fidelity Record Keeping Support team's key role is the stability and availability of the Fidelity Record Keeping application to internal business and WI participants. The team has in-depth knowledge of Defined Contribution business who work with the client relationship managers and product teams to address incidents reported by participants and plan sponsors along with supporting the batch cycles and the online environments. We aim to provide outstanding support to all of our customers and help them adapt to the ever-changing technology landscape and ensure accurate data processing.
