Tax - Indirect - Global Trade Operations - Staff

The opportunity
As a member of our Global Trade team, you will play a pivotal role in establishing global trade strategies that align with business objectives, leveraging trade laws to optimize supply chain operations and drive cost savings, all while ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for determining correct customs valuation, managing transfer pricing and customs valuation policies, and overseeing remediation processes and corrective filings with customs and other authorities. Key responsibilities include providing export and import classifications, soliciting Free Trade Agreements, screening transactions for sanctioned parties, and identifying governmental agency requirements for global trade.
As a Staff, you will use your experience and technical knowledge to bring value to clients and manage risks related to global trade matters. You will be a member of our Global Trade Managed Services team that assists our clients to move their freight both effectively and compliantly around the globe.
Your key responsibilities
In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of processes, solutions, and projects by researching and presenting relevant information to inform recommendations. You will be accountable for delivering your own work and meeting targets that impact your immediate team, while supporting client service, quality, risk management, and business growth. You will spend approximately 80% of your time defining and executing deliverables, engaging with project teams and clients, and actively participating in client working sessions. Regular travel may be required as needed by external clients, and you will support opportunities for additional services, RFP responses, and engagement economics.
Your focus will be on executing Harmonized System (HS) Classification Projects, driving Free Trade Agreement (FTA) qualification and solicitation initiatives, and conducting rigorous audits of customs brokers and third-party providers to uphold the highest standards of trade compliance. You will research customs and international trade issues and perform customs compliance work for our clients.

- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Relations or a related trade operations management field
- Approximately 2 or more years of related work experience in a Fortune 500 company or a major importer or exporter or a professional services firm
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- An analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail and robust critical thinking capabilities.

- A Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) certification

- Accurately classify products in accordance with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
- Foster proactive and strategic communication with suppliers, clients, and third-party service providers to ensure the seamless exchange of critical FTA documentation and classification information
- Perform meticulous reviews of trade documentation to guarantee adherence to Customs Regulations, creating comprehensive audit trails that articulate the methodology and reasoning for classification outcomes
- Provide steadfast support for daily FTA and classification inquiries, adeptly navigating and resolving import-related complexities
- Develop, analyze, and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs), assemble detailed quarterly business review reports, and manage ad hoc data inquiries to drive informed business decisions.
- Proactively identify and advocate for process enhancements and operational efficiencies.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $62,600 to $103,400. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $75,100 to $117,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
