Your role
Do you have experience in fund administration or asset
management? Are you familiar with valuation principles
and able to handle large amounts of data under tight
deadlines? Do you want to help us expand our valuation
oversight function?

We are looking for a Valuation Analyst to:
• supporting the Valuation Committee in preparation,
analysis, and documentation of meeting materials,
• assisting in evaluation of pricing vendors and annual due
diligence process,
• performing / reviewing analysis of security liquidity,
• review pricing vendor tolerance breaks and
stale/unchanged pricing,
• coordinating and performing security back-testing analytics,
• reviewing corporate actions and instruct Fund
Administrators/Custodians on appropriate valuation,
• reviewing price override requests from Portfolio Managers and validate appropriateness,
• assisting in building robust and efficient pricing framework and reports.

• Chicago: the salary range for this role is $90000 to $120000

Your team
The Valuation Team has oversight of the valuation policies, processes, and procedures across all regions within the traditional fund business as well as select alternative fund businesses. As a Valuation Analyst, you'll play an important role in ensuring all assets within the business are priced accurately while working closely with different internal and external teams involved in the business, including Portfolio Managers.
Complete and support data lifecycle tasks for security reference, pricing, benchmark, index, Valuations and analytics data, including setup, maintenance, validation, reconciliation, and deactivation within agreed service level agreements (SLAs)
• Respond to internal requests to clarify, verify, reconcile, and control data sets, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
• Follow, document, and review standard operating procedures to ensure they are fit for purpose
• Conduct comprehensive business analysis and define requirements for data management processes and system workflows
• Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and oversee production releases, collaborating with data vendors, operations teams, and stakeholders to resolve data issues and ensure adherence to SLAs

Your expertise
• ideally 9+ years' relevant experience of working in an asset management firm or similar experience in a valuation
function.
• experience in Securities pricing/valuation, Operations, Product Control, Data Management, Fund Administrators or Auditors,
• experience in Fund Administration, Hedge Fund, Fund-of-Fund, or Private Equity industry will be considered an asset,
• solid knowledge and familiarity with valuation procedures across all asset classes (equity, fixed income, derivatives, structured products);
• working knowledge of leading market data platforms (such as Bloomberg, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), Rimes)
• solid experience with reconciliation, root cause analysis, price valuation and complex troubleshooting
• proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools (Excel, VBA, macros; SQL is a plus)
• strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
• experience with tools such as SQL, Alteryx, Power BI, SimCorp Dimension platform preferred
• a proactive, accountable team player with a positive, action-oriented mindset, capable of working independently, and driving data-driven solutions
