Description
TIAA is seeking a talented and strategic Art Director to join the Retirement Solutions department. In this role, you will help lead the visual creative direction for retirement-focused campaigns, communications, and digital experiences that serve the needs of our participants, plan sponsors, consultants and partners. You will play a pivotal role in translating complex financial concepts into compelling, accessible, and on-brand visual narratives that inspire confidence and action across a diverse audience.Key Responsibilities and Duties
- As Art Director, you will own the visual direction and design execution for a broad portfolio of retirement solutions marketing and communications initiatives. This includes developing concepts and creative frameworks for multi-channel campaigns spanning print, web, video, and social media. You will collaborate closely with copywriters, strategists, UX designers, and product teams to ensure cohesive storytelling and a consistent brand experience throughout the customer journey.
- You will serve as a creative lead and mentor to junior designers, providing thoughtful feedback and elevating the overall quality of the team's output. You will also partner with external agencies and vendors, managing creative reviews and ensuring deliverables meet TIAA's brand, accessibility, and compliance standards.
- In addition, you will contribute to the evolution of TIAA's visual identity within the retirement solutions space, identifying opportunities to modernize and differentiate creative executions while remaining aligned to enterprise brand guidelines. You will present creative concepts to senior stakeholders, articulating the strategic rationale behind design decisions with clarity and confidence.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Five years of professional experience in art direction or visual design
Preferred:
- The ideal candidate brings a minimum of seven to eight years of professional experience in art direction or visual design.
- Preferred two years in a senior or lead creative capacity.
- Experience within financial services, insurance, or a similarly regulated industry is strongly preferred.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, brand storytelling, and multi-channel design execution is required.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other industry-standard design tools is expected.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards such as ADA guidelines and experience designing for digital-first environments are highly valued.
- Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- A bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field is preferred.

Base Pay Range: $103,000/yr - $140,000/yr
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
