Description
We are seeking an experienced Controller to assume the accounting, operations and financial reporting responsibilities of our Firm. This role also includes compliance oversight and marketing support.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the full cycle of accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, custodian/bank/trading reconciliations, expense allocations, and management fee calculations.
Monitor intra-day trading, calculations, and allocations. Provide end of day allocations and reconciliations to PM’s.
In concert with our compliance advisor, lead the preparation and filing of all SEC regulatory reports, including Form ADV, Form PF, Form 13F, and any other required disclosures.
Oversee investor reporting including performance reports.
Monitor regulatory and accounting standard changes (SEC, FASB, tax) and implement necessary updates.
Provide monthly budgeting and cash flow management reports as needed/requested. Quickbooks knowledge required.
Process payroll, pay vendor bills, and effect proper business license renewals, including various insurance packages.
Monitor client tax positions and capital gains, and provide reminders and information as requested to PM’s.
Participate in quarterly investor letter presentation and editing.
Manage edits to the firm’s website and databases, ensuring content is up to date.
Oversee the updating of marketing collateral and ensure consistency across all materials.
Ensure all marketing activities comply with regulatory requirements (SEC, FINRA, etc.).
Interface with GIPS vendor and respond to all data requests. Manage oversight of annual GIPS verification process and audit.
Oversee new account opening setups with Fidelity, or other custodians, including transfers of assets and other cash movements.
Manage tax return preparation and filing with CPA for Firm’s entities.
Manage employee benefits, including retirement and medical insurance plans.
Oversee Firm’s information technology platforms and related requests.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in accounting at an asset manager.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks.
Knowledge of Advent Black Diamond or other similar portfolio management system.
Knowledge of Fidelity Wealthscape institutional platform.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, communication, and project management skills with high attention to detail and integrity.
