Description
Your OpportunityAt Schwab, you're empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us "challenge the status quo" and transform the finance industry together.
We're seeking a Director of Content & Social Marketing to set the vision, strategy, and creative direction for Schwab's presence on the social and video-sharing platforms shaping how investors learn today. In this role, you'll both steward an industry-leading YouTube channel and build a new TikTok channel from the ground up - defining the editorial point of view, quality bar, and content franchises from day one.
Within our Insights & Education Content organization, you'll be accountable for the long-term strategy of these platforms-along with the Insights & Education site-and the multi-format content that powers them, including video, online courses, social, and other emerging formats. You'll lead and grow a team of talented content producers, setting creative standards and providing nurturing feedback and development opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
- Define the vision and long-term strategy for our company-owned YouTube and TikTok channels, including the editorial calendar, content franchises, and formats that will grow audience and engagement.
- Oversee the creation of investor education and market commentary content across video, editorial, social, online courses, and other multimedia assets.
- Lead and inspire a world-class creative team of producers, editors, and content creators to deliver best-in-class education and market commentary.
- Foster a culture of creative excellence, collaboration, and client advocacy.
- Set and uphold creative standards by bringing a clear point of view on what "great" looks like across every format and platform.
- Partner across the marketing ecosystem, working closely with Corporate Affairs on social media planning and community management, and Corporate Marketing on paid media and influencer partnerships.
- Own content performance and analytics, using data to measure impact, optimize what we publish, and inform what we create next.
- Manage our library of content and lead media governance, ensuring audit controls, compliance requirements, and documentation are in place across channels, markets, and partners.
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have:
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in content creation, creative leadership, media production, or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience managing and developing a team of content creators and editors.
- 5+ years of experience developing content strategy at a brand, media company, or agency.
- Experience managing social media strategy and/or editorial planning at a brand level.
- Exceptional storytelling, messaging, and editorial judgment, with the ability to shape narratives across multiple channels and audiences.
- Expert-level knowledge of social media and video-sharing platforms - in particular YouTube and TikTok. You should understand each platform's ecosystem, culture, and unique qualities, and serve as the firm's subject-matter expert on these platforms.
- Knowledge of how to design content for modern discovery, including SEO, AEO, and generative search experiences.
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
- A strong portfolio of video and social content that drove viewers and engagement while achieving measurable business results.
- Exceptional project management, process design, and organizational skills.
- Technical proficiency and working knowledge of key Martech systems, including Content Management Systems (CMS), SEO platforms, digital analytics, marketing automation, social listening, and audience analytics tools.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to connect content efforts to measurable business impact.
- Experience working with agencies and managing external partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- A keen understanding of personal finance, investing, and trading (e.g., options and futures). Alternatively, experience with highly technical or a diverse range of industries.
- Series 7 and 24 licenses
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
