Description
Your OpportunityDirector, Managed Accounts - Proprietary Solutions
We believe that, when done right, investing liberates people to create their own destiny. We are driven by our purpose to champion every client's goals with passion and integrity. We hire optimistic, results-oriented, curious, innovative, and adaptable people with the desire to help our clients and one another succeed. As a company, we were established by Chuck 50 years ago to champion Main Street over Wall Street, and to help Americans transform themselves from earners to owners. Through advocacy and innovation, we work to make investing more affordable, accessible, and understandable for all.
Our organization
Schwab Investment Platforms, Solutions and Strategy (SIPSS) brings together Schwab's investment platforms, product solutions, and product strategy teams to set strategic direction and drive investment across Schwab's managed accounts, third-party platforms, digital advice, and emerging capabilities. SIPSS partners across the firm to deliver a modern, scalable, and competitive investment product ecosystem for Schwab clients.
Within SIPSS, the Director of Managed Accounts, Proprietary Solutions is part of the Investment Offers & Solutions (IOS) group. IOS is responsible for managing Schwab's proprietary investment offers as well as third-party product marketplaces, including mutual funds, ETFs, alternative investments, managed accounts, structured products, fixed income, annuities, insurance, and 529s. Our mission is to deliver a positive client experience while growing a key revenue stream for Schwab.
Within IOS, Managed Accounts Solutions (MAS) is responsible for the end-to-end management of Schwab's managed investing solutions, primarily Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs). This includes setting strategic vision, maintaining a robust product lineup, developing new capabilities and tools, deepening asset management partnerships, and working cross-functionally to deliver best-in-class managed account solutions.
Our Opportunity
As SMAs continue to grow in importance as a core investment vehicle, we are focused on evolving and strengthening Schwab's proprietary managed account offerings. The Director will lead the vision and strategy for proprietary managed account solutions, balancing long-term strategic planning with day-to-day execution. This includes modernizing the offering, enhancing competitiveness, and aligning closely with the growth objectives of Schwab's Retail and Wealth Management businesses.
Reporting to the Director, Managed Accounts, this role sets strategy, leads key initiatives, and oversees the daily business of Schwab's proprietary managed account platform. The Director will partner with Schwab Asset Management (SAM) and own the proprietary investment product delivery roadmap, drive prioritization decisions, and lead execution of critical initiatives to scale and modernize the business. Responsibilities also include risk management, goal-setting, and measuring results against defined objectives. Building and leading a high-performing team is central to success in this role.
Success requires strong leadership and influence across the firm and with key partners. The Director will work closely with internal stakeholders-including client service, operations, technology, legal, and compliance-as well as external partners, to drive alignment and deliver shared outcomes. The role demands a proactive leader who can independently navigate complexity and ambiguity while driving results.
This role will partner closely with Schwab Asset Management to develop, deliver, continuously enhance proprietary managed account solutions, ensuring strong alignment between investment capabilities, product design, distribution strategy, and client needs.
