Your role
This role will have a blend of responsibilities supporting Americas Research Management across a range of functions, including but not limited to:
• Vettings and related processes
• Private Company initiatives
• Commerciality initiatives including client events and DoR level client engagement

For the Vettings component of the role, the individual will assist in the oversight and coordination of processes where Banking engages Research, including helping to manage vetting requests and assigning them to the appropriate analysts or teams. Responsibilities here will include tracking and managing ongoing vetting and deal activity, supporting Research teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and UBS policies.
• The role may also involve reviewing Research materials (e.g. syndicate submissions and teach-ins), maintaining oversight of multiple concurrent processes, and serving as a point of guidance for Research teams.
• An understanding of the U.S. regulatory framework governing the interaction between Research and Investment Banking will be helpful, but not a pre-requisite.

For the Private Company portion of the role this individual will be involved in aiding the Research Management team in planning and coordinating the wide array of private company content and network engagement being undertaken by the department. Responsibilities here may include:
• Developing strategy for private company outreach, engagement, and both network development and maintenance
• Event ideation and execution - both leveraging existing events and developing new ones
• Coordinating with private/thematic research team to develop ad hoc events on topical thematic reports/content

The role has significant scope for growth, with opportunities for an entrepreneurial individual in the role to expand responsibilities into the planning and coordinating of targeted outreach by Research Management to key clients across the region, at a consistent and senior level as well as systematic outreach to Investor Relations and C-Suite of companies covered by UBS.
• This outreach will include in-person as well as virtual engagement, 1-1 and focused group events including DoR/CIO/IR summits in both regional and hub locations.
• This engagement may leverage existing UBS events, as well as planning and arranging new events

Your team
The individual will work closely with the Director of Americas Research and Deputy Director of Research in all of these processes and have the opportunity for considerable responsibility in the oversight of multiple simultaneous processes, being a source of knowledge and guidance for Research teams as well as providing oversight and approvals where appropriate.

Your expertise
• strong understanding of U.S. regulatory requirements governing Research and Investment Banking interactions
• prior experience in Equity Research Compliance or within Equity Research as an Analyst, Associate, or Supervisory Analyst
• working knowledge of valuation methodologies and accounting principles across multiple sectors
• proven ability to manage complex, high volume workflows with multiple stakeholders
• strong judgment, attention to detail, and the confidence to provide oversight and challenge where appropriate
• excellent communication and relationship management skills

Salary information
The indicative gross base salary range as a full-time equivalent role:
• United States - New York - New York min USD 145000 - max USD 172500 /annum

The expected salary for this role will be determined by relevant factors which may include but are not limited to, role-required experience, qualifications, education, location and skill level.
