Description
Job Description:The Role
In this role, you will perform fundamental equity research on a specific coverage universe, providing investment ideas for the portfolios and contributing to the investment performance of the firm. You will generate proprietary fundamental analysis of the sector, the industry, the companies and the stocks you cover by meeting with top management of companies, industry experts, sell side analysts and experienced colleagues. Research Associates and Research Analysts create detailed financial projections for the companies and develop valuation analysis on the stocks to develop investment recommendations (versus sector, versus market) for their assigned stocks. You will communicate your recommendations and insights on your stocks directly to Portfolio Managers, and make valuable contributions to our Equity Research department and mutual funds.
We offer a comprehensive training program as well as ongoing instruction, both of which emphasize the skills needed for fundamental investing.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
We are seeking candidates who have the following characteristics:
- 1-3 years of post-undergraduate experience in investment research (buy-side or sell-side), investment banking, private equity, equity capital markets, or another related field.
- Demonstrated consistent success in your work and academic experience.
- Exhibit strong analytical and communication skills, coupled with the highest level of personal and professional integrity.
- Able to think creatively, work independently and be able to make decisions quickly, often with limited information.
- Demonstrate the confidence and the maturity to engage with senior level management of companies.
- Intellectually curious about companies and markets including ability to demonstrate previous interest/experience in equity investing.
- Very high levels of initiative and motivation.
