Title: Assc Dir- Analytics & Modeling
Location: 7575 Gateway Boulevard, Suite 300, Newark, CA 94560
Duties: Build analytical models of economic and insured property exposure from various tabular and spatial data sets. Utilize key skills and technologies such as data manipulation in SQL and Python, automated data acquisition, processing, and visualization. Document analytical methods and results, collect into central documents, and educate internal and external audiences and enable the commercial success of the data products being created. Research and develop global datasets of marine cargo exposures globally leveraging public and/or open-sources trade flow data, trade flow data modeling, remote sensing data, and simple statistical models. Create valuation models for various types of properties leveraging public and/or open-sources data and economic or statistical models. Research insurance market practices, including penetration rates and prevailing policy terms and conditions in various geographies around the world and various languages.
Requirements: Requires a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field. Must have academic training or experience statistical modeling, data analysis, data visualization, and programming in SQL, Python or R for data analysis; geospatial data analysis, ArcGIS or QGIS; marine trade flows data analysis, automated data acquisition through API; and understanding extreme events modeling.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $164,403 to $243,700/yr, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
