Skills and Competencies
- Extensive experience in corporate and business strategy or related discipline, ideally within financial services and in support of C-level stakeholders
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proven ability to condense complex ideas, analysis, and concepts into clear, compelling narratives and presentations
- Demonstrated track record of developing impactful storytelling for senior executive and board-level audiences
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate financial, operational, and market insights into decision ready themes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Demonstrated focus on automation, leveraging AI to streamline reporting, baseline analysis, and content creation
- Experience working in close partnership with Investor Relations functions is desirable
- Management consulting background is a plus
- Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using tools like Copilot, Claude, and ChatGPT to enhance strategic thinking, streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency
Education
- Bachelor's degree required
- Advanced degree preferred
Responsibilities
This role is responsible for shaping, maintaining, and executing a consistent strategic narrative for MA, partnering closely with senior leadership to support executive decision making, investor communications, and enterprise level reporting.
- Develop and continuously evolve MA's strategic narrative in partnership with the Head of MA Strategy, ensuring consistency across internal and external stakeholders
- Build and own a central repository of non financial data and KPIs in collaboration with Business Intelligence for use by Sales, Investor Relations, Marketing, and Communications
- Ensure clear definitions and shared understanding of customer segments, performance KPIs, products, delivery mechanisms, and sales channels, communicating changes as required
- Translate complex financial, operational, and market issues into clear strategic themes to support leadership decision making
- Articulate implications for MA and business unit scorecards and OKRs
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with senior stakeholders across the organization
- Ensure non financial data and KPIs are accurate, up to date, and continuously enriched
- Play a central role in the preparation of MA quarterly earnings calls, including prioritizing themes, drafting scripts, supporting Q&A preparation, and developing key messaging materials
- Participate in post earnings call debriefs with Investor Relations and Finance teams
- Ensure investor messaging aligns with MA's strategic narrative and is reflected in MA and business unit objectives
- Lead the development and production of high quality Operating Committee and Board updates in partnership with the MA CEO, Head of Finance, and Head of Strategy
- Support the MA CEO with townhall presentations and senior leadership briefing materials that reflect strategic priorities and leadership voice
- Maintain awareness of the executive reporting calendar and drive timely delivery and readiness of all executive level materials
About the Team
MA Global Strategy is focused on driving the firm's growth profile by identifying and enabling the most significant drivers of growth and margin efficiency. The team is responsible for corporate, business, and portfolio strategy, executing through business planning, portfolio management, product governance, and strategic programs. Working closely with the MA CEO, senior leadership team, Finance, and business units, the group helps inform, align, and report on Moody's overall strategy and performance.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $135,700.00 - $196,750.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
