Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Solid verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and effectively prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
- Familiarity with debt capital markets through coursework and/or relevant work experience preferred
- Prior experience reviewing financial and legal documentation
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Detail-oriented with the ability to apply established guidelines, procedures, and criteria accurately
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive ratings processing support and coordination services for assigned debt issuance transactions and portfolios.
- Review lengthy debt documents, pricing supplements, and rating-relevant provisions to support the rating assignment process
- Apply established rules, guidelines, and procedures to assigned issuances submitted for rating consideration
- Determine qualification using defined criteria for existing published ratings or identify when additional analysis is required by the Lead Analyst
- Facilitate collection of required documentation and monitor news wires and market vendors for relevant debt market developments
- Support comprehensive issuance portfolio management and issuer relationship management activities as needed
- Research, identify, and escalate issuance discrepancies or conflicts and summarize findings for the Lead Analyst
- Interact with issuers, investors, and intermediaries as part of the rating process and provide timely responses to inquiries
- Develop knowledge of financial instruments, rating policies, and market practices while demonstrating flexibility in managing changing priorities and deadlines
About the Team
Our Ratings & Research Operations Center team is responsible for delivering high-quality operational support that enables timely and accurate credit rating activities across global debt capital markets. The team partners closely with Rating Analysts, issuers, investors, and other market participants to support ratings processing, document review, portfolio management, and issuer relationship activities. By joining our team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of fixed income instruments and global financial markets while contributing to operational excellence, process efficiency, and informed decision-making. As Moody's continues to embrace innovative technologies, our team leverages data, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities to enhance workflows and support responsible business practices across the organization.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $56,200.00 - $81,550.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
