Your OpportunityThe Portfolio Management Technology team is looking for a talented technologist to develop software and solutions for our private cloud-based trading platform. The team is responsible for building ultra-low latency, high volume, and reliable next generation trading platform. The application should support processing several billions of transactions during market hours. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly visible team that delivers innovative business solutions leveraging emerging technologies at Schwab. You will be working with a team of talented technologists and SMEs who bring a lot of energy, focus and fresh ideas that support our mission to provide value by seeing the world "Through Clients' Eyes".
What You Are Good At
- Evaluating complex user requests and clarifying and communicating the objectives in a clear and concise manner
- Conducting and preparing feasibility studies for new and existing applications
- Leading projects with moderate complexity and scope
- Making a positive influence on your team members and peers
- Providing technical expertise
- Working on Proof Of Concepts (POCs) using new/emerging technology/tools
What you have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Hands on experience gained through 7-8+ years in a software development role
- 5+ years of Schwab technology domain experience gained as a current or recent contractor or employee
- Experience with full stack application development technologies, RESTful APIs, Relational and Document-Based databases, and Cloud technologies
- The ability to work independently and to effectively interact and collaborate with all types of stakeholders, both technical and business, peers, and leaders
- The ability work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- The ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and learn new technologies
- Strong customer focus with a sense of ownership and determination to drive solutions in a collaborative environment
- Required - Excellent coding experience in C#/.NET (7+ years)
- Required - Working experience with IBM MQ, Kafka, Aerospike (NoSQL) database, Splunk (logging), JSON/XML, PCF (Cloud), Caching, Performance Analysis & Profiling, Twelve-Factor App Methodology, Resiliency Patterns, Observability Patterns, Agile Practices etc.
- Required - Working experience building scalable and High-Performance applications
- Required - Experience being a technical lead for a team and/or project.
- Desired - Expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Docker and Kubernetes
- Desired - Familiarity with Schwab Technology ecosystem.
