Our Team:
The Wealth Management Learning & Coaching (WML&C) organization in the Branch Network is accountable for developing and coaching Schwab sales and sales support professionals.
Wealth Management Learning & Development (WML&D) sits within WML&C and is responsible for creating innovative and engaging learning solutions that onboard, develop, and advance our sales and sales support professionals across all career stages. The Content Center of Excellence (CoE) defines and enforces content quality, structure, and consistency standards across major programs - some of which include WMU, CRSU, FCA, and BMU-ensuring all learning experiences are relevant, practical, and directly tied to performance in the field.
Your Role:
We are seeking a Content Development subject matter expert (SME) to serve as a key team player in designing and building high-impact learning solutions to meet learning needs for professionals in the Branch Network. The role is a true content ownership role, requiring expertise in authoring, structuring, and refining learning content that translates complex business inputs into clear, scalable, and high-quality learning experiences.
The ideal candidate engages directly with stakeholders to assess learner needs and creates, shapes, and elevates content that empowers our professionals, not simply coordinating it.
Operating in a highly regulated, sales-driven environment, this individual will ensure all content is accurate, relevant, and designed to drive behavior change and measurable performance outcomes in the field.
Reporting to the Director, Head of Content CoE, you will be responsible for:
- Serving as the primary content SME and author, personally developing, refining, and elevating learning materials end-to-end
- Owning content architecture and structure, ensuring learning solutions are clear, scalable, and instructionally sound
- Translating complex, ambiguous business inputs into clear, actionable learning frameworks and content
- Enforcing content excellence standards, including clarity, consistency, and usability across programs
- Partnering with field SMEs, Instructional Designers, and facilitation teams to shape content, while maintaining ownership of content decisions and updates
- Driving consistency through content standards, frameworks, and governance practices across the Content CoE

- Structuring complex information into simple, scalable frameworks that drive understanding and application
- Converting inputs from stakeholders and SMEs into focused, high-impact learning solutions
- Translating learning strategy into tangible content that improves performance
- Confidently editing, rewriting, and elevating work to meet a high bar
- Holding firm on content quality standards, even when navigating multiple stakeholders
What you bring:
- Deep, hands-on experience as a content developer or learning content SME, with direct ownership of authored materials
- Demonstrated ability to build learning content from analysis through final delivery
- Strong foundation in adult learning principles and application of the ADDIE framework in content design
- Proven ability to simplify complex topics into clear, scalable learning solutions
- Expertise in extracting, prioritizing, and shaping content from business SMEs and leaders
- Track record of delivering content that drives measurable behavior change and performance outcomes
- Experience developing content that improves the quality of client conversations and field performance
- Desire to think beyond traditional training and create impactful learning experiences
Strongly Preferred:
- 3+ years' experience in financial services or wealth management role
- Experience building or contributing to content standards, frameworks, or governance models
