As a Senior Quality Assurance Manager within PNC's Corporate and Institutional Banking Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX.
The Senior Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for establishing and scaling Quality Engineering practices across multiple delivery teams supporting multiple products. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership to drive automation-first testing, modern QE frameworks, and AI-enabled quality solutions that ensure high-quality, resilient, and compliant enterprise platforms. Additionally, the Senior Quality Assurance Manager would partner closely with Tech Engineers, Product, and DevOps teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC, accelerate delivery, and improve production stability while managing and mentoring QE leads and engineers.
Key Responsibilities
• Establish and operationalize QE strategy, standards, and governance
• Lead high-performing QE teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development
• Drive test automation as the default approach across UI, API, integration, and regression test layers
• Remain hands-on with automation design, framework decisions, and complex testing scenarios using tools such as Selenium and API automation frameworks
• Introduce and scale AI-driven test automation and intelligent testing solutions
• Integrate QE practices into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows for continuous testing and fast feedback
• Define and track quality metrics, KPIs, and risk indicators to improve product quality and release confidence
• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to ensure early test involvement, testability, and shift-left strategies
• Ensure compliance with SDLC, regulatory, audit, and risk requirements where applicable
Skills & Qualifications
• Proven experience establishing QE practices and automation frameworks from the ground up
o Strong hands-on experience with test automation tools, like Selenium (Java), Playwright, API automation, Test framework design and maintenance
o Solid understanding of modern application architectures, including Microservices, APIs, Event-driven systems
• Ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across Engineering, Product, and Architecture organizations
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience implementing or scaling AI-based or intelligent test automation tools (self-healing automation, test prioritization, analytics-driven testing)
• Exposure to CI/CD tools and DevOps practices integrating automated testing
• Experience with cloud-native and containerized environments
• Knowledge of performance, resilience, and non-functional testing
• Experience operating within regulated or audit-heavy environments
• Background in Agile / SAFe delivery models and large-scale enterprise programs

Job Description
- Oversees all QA activities and processes for a major or multiple software products or systems.
- Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company, industry, and regulatory standards.
- Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Provides feedback and input for software development standards and practices.
- Leads implementation, control, and distribution of all Quality Assurance programs, practices, standards, methodologies, and metrics. Reviews results of major and final tests to determine if product specifications are met in line with requirements and standards.
- Oversees performance of managers and teams. Identifies and addresses staff training and development needs.

Work Experience Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
