Charles Schwab Trust Bank (CSTB) provides trust, custody, trading, and technical services for employer sponsored retirement plans. Cash Operations' goal is to provide superior client service as it relates to the processing of incoming and outgoing cash activity and all associated regulatory reporting. We also manage relationships with internal business partners, maintain and test various internal and vendor-supplied systems, and demonstrate adherence to all governing regulations and requirements.
CSTB Tax is part of the Cash Operations group within CSTB and is responsible for tax withholding and reporting functions to ensure compliance with all federal and state jurisdictions' withholding tax rules and regulations pertaining to retirement plan distributions.
What you'll do:
The Specialist is responsible for understanding the team's operational processes, executing appropriate risk mitigation, and contributing to enhanced operational controls. The position requires superior reconciliation and analytical skills, acute attention to detail, and multi-tasking adeptness. Crucial to the role is the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and execute assigned duties in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with minimal errors. Specialists are also expected to participate in projects of varying size and scope that serve to advance our systems and processes.
Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Coordinate the completion of multiple tax functions within carefully defined procedures
• Manage and prioritize assigned tasks in a manner that meets or exceeds SLAs
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment
• Be flexible and comfortable with impromptu changes in priorities
• Serve as a knowledge resource for the team and various internal business partners
• Perform supervisory level reviews/approvals

• Superior critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple processes with competing deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Enthusiasm, professionalism, and a strong work ethic
• Demonstrated ability to learn new systems, tools, and processes
• Ability to effectively research, interpret, and apply regulatory information
• Experience in retirement services, bank operations, or tax reporting is preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
