At Schwab, being the most trusted leader in investment services starts with our people. The Wealth Management Learning & Coaching team develops and coaches Schwab sales professionals, so they are prepared to serve clients the Schwab way.
FC Academy is a 15-month rotational development program for recent college graduates and career changers. The program provides licensing, Client Service & Support, and Investor Development Training experiences to prepare participants for future Financial Consultant, Branch Network, and other business development roles.
As the Senior Manager, FC Academy, you will lead teams during the six-month Investor Development Training rotation while also supporting participants through licensing milestones. This role is responsible for coaching, developing, assessing readiness, building an engaging culture, reinforcing risk and compliance discipline, and partnering cross-functionally to help participants transition successfully into post-graduation roles.
What You'll Do
- Lead and inspire FC Academy participants through effective communication, coaching, feedback, and performance accountability.
- Deliver a consistent, transparent career path roadmap that supports attraction, recruitment, and onboarding of high-impact talent across four cohorts annually.
- Interview new talent and oversee onboarding efforts and initiatives for the FCA program in partnership with cross-functional leaders.
- Provide HR leadership to professionals in their licensing rotation and partner with licensing coaches to help professionals successfully meet requirements to obtain SIE, Series 7, and Series 66.
- Collaborate with Wealth Management Learning & Coaching, Client Service & Support, EDGE coaching, Wealth Management Training, Supervision & Controls, Compliance, Branch Network, and Talent Acquisition partners.
- Hold employees accountable for quantitative and qualitative measures while creating a culture of success, trust, engagement, and development.
- Listen to and observe participant sales practices to provide ongoing risk management, client-first coaching, and operational discipline.
- Contribute ideas and recommendations to the FCA Director and Program Management Team to enhance the program and participant experience.
- Serve as an ambassador for FC Academy and the Branch Network.
What you have
Required Qualifications
- Active and valid FINRA Series 7 license.
- Active and valid FINRA Series 66 (or Series 63/65 equivalent), or ability to obtain within 120 days of employment
- Active and valid FINRA Series 9/10, or ability to obtain within 120 days of employment.
- Minimum 5 years of financial services experience working directly with clients.
- Minimum 3 years in a sales, advisory, relationship management, or business development role.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Ability to work flexible shifts and support teams across multiple U.S. time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- CFP®, AAMS®, or other relevant industry designation.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience.
- A desire to lead, passion for sales management, and deep commitment to client service.
- Robust business acumen and understanding of Schwab products and services.
- Strong leadership, management, coaching, motivational, and employee engagement skills.
- Proven ability to establish quality cross-enterprise partnerships.
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to quickly adapt to business needs.
- Ability to execute multiple initiatives with competing priorities in a timely and accurate manner.
