This position is M-F during standard business hours with a hybrid work model (4 days in-office, 1 day working from home). It is only available in the location listed. Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate on their own to the listed location. In Corporate Risk Management we provide an integrated risk management strategy that supports the delivery of predictable financial and operational performance to produce successful client and shareholder outcomes. We are organized around six primary functions: Enterprise Risk; Credit, Market and Investment Risk; Information Security Risk; Model Risk; Operational Risk; and Financial Crimes Risk. Specifically, our Financial Crimes Risk team handles the risk of loss in Money Movement services offered through Schwab Bank and Brokerage affiliates, and risk of Money Laundering by various bad actors. The role is within our Strategy Execution Data Automation (SEDA) team, located within Financial Crimes risk Management (FCRM) Organization.
We are seeking a Systems Data Analyst to support data-driven decision making by pulling, analyzing, and interpreting data from multiple systems to support Fraud, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) teams. The ideal candidate combines strong SQL and analytical skills with an understanding of financial crimes risk and can leverage AI-enabled analytics and automation to improve efficiency, consistency, and insight quality-while operating within governance and model-risk expectations.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Extract, query, and analyze data from multiple fraud, AML and enterprise systems using SQL and related tools
- Clean, validate, and transform raw data to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Perform exploratory analysis to identify trends, patterns, gaps, and risks
- Apply AI-enabled analytics tools or techniques (e.g., automation, pattern detection, anomaly identification) to improve analytical outcomes
- Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences
- Partner with business and technology teams to understand requirements and data needs
- Support audits, risk assessments, and regulatory or management reporting as needed
- Document data definitions, logic, assumptions, and AI usage to ensure transparency and repeatability
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in SQL and querying relational databases
- Experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources
- Experience using AI-enabled analytics tools (e.g., Python libraries, embedded AI in BI platforms, or automation frameworks)
- Python or R for data analysis, automation, or AI-assisted workflows
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to clearly communicate insights and findings to stakeholders
- High attention to detail and data quality
- Working knowledge of AI or advanced analytics concepts, such as:
using AI-assisted tools for data analysis or automation- basic understanding of machine learning concepts (e.g., classification, anomaly detection, trend analysis)
- leveraging AI features within analytics platforms or programming tools
