UBS is committed to hiring and developing high-performing transitioning Service Members and Veterans through our Veterans Associate Program (VAP)—a 20-week, accelerated pathway into Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, Equity Research, Global Wealth Management, or Asset Management.
We are seeking recent transitioning Service Members to join our 2027 VAP cohort starting January 2027. During the program, you will build technical finance capability, apply it on a team placement, and earn the opportunity to interview for permanent roles while you are in the program.

Program overview:

• New joiner orientation: learn UBS culture, controls, business model, and how our divisions partner to serve clients.
• Instructor-led finance & analytics training (Weeks 1-2): complete intensive coursework (e.g., Excel tools/macros, financial modeling, valuation, capital markets, and wealth/portfolio management fundamentals) to prepare you to contribute on day one.
• Team placement: start with a divisionally aligned team in Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, Equity Research, Global Wealth Management, or Asset Management. Placements are determined through the selection and interview process.
• Mentorship: matched with mentors who will help you navigate the firm, accelerate learning, and build your network.
• Cross-divisional exposure: ongoing networking and guest-speaker sessions with leaders across UBS.
• Continuous development: structured learning throughout the 20 weeks (external provider-led courses, self-paced modules, and internal business-skills workshops).
• May/June 2027: interview for permanent opportunities.
VAP is designed to convert strong foundational skills into front office impact. You will work alongside high-performing teams, sharpen technical and client-facing capabilities, and build relationships that will accelerate your long-term career at UBS. Requirements
· You must be a transitioning service member or military veteran having left active service within the past two years with Honorable Discharge
· Bachelor's degree with a well-rounded academic background (coursework preferably in finance, economics or engineering or quantitative analysis), MBA or MS is a plus
· Passing score on Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam required prior to start date
· SkillBridge, CSP, Hiring Our Heroes candidates eligible to apply

Your team
Through our screening and interview process, you will be aligned to a team within Global Wealth Management, the Investment Bank, or Asset Management. Final selection decisions are made following Superday interviews and reflect both your interests and business hiring needs.

•Global Wealth Management: Chief Investment Office, Product Management & Development, Investment & Portfolio Management or Client Advisory
•Investment Bank: Global Banking, Global Markets (Sales and Trading), or Equity Research
•Asset Management: Portfolio Construction, Hedge Funds, Real Estate, or Private Equity

Your expertise
What you bring:

•Strong command of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); able to build clear analyses and client-ready materials
•Clear, concise written and verbal communication; confidence presenting to senior stakeholders
•Foundational accounting, financial modeling, and valuation skills; strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving ability
•Passing FINRA SIE exam required to be considered for final selection
•Record of top performance in the military (e.g., accelerated responsibility, competitive selection, awards, or measurable mission outcomes)
•Demonstrated leadership and teamwork; leads by example and contributes to a high-performance culture
•Thrives in fast-paced environments; stays composed under pressure and responds quickly to changing priorities
•Produces accurate, detailed analyses, documents, and presentations under tight deadlines
•Highly organized; manages multiple workstreams with strong attention to detail
•Ownership mindset; able to run with projects independently, elevate issues early, and deliver results with limited direction

Salary information
The indicative gross base salary for this role is USD 52.88 /hour.
