Description
This role is focused on new client development and retention within Life Insurance companies across the Mid-West. The ideal candidate will consultatively engage with multiple stakeholders at key insurance companies and holistically deliver the firm via a private banking style distribution process. This role represents the following asset classes throughout the sales cycle: public and private fixed income, public and private equity, real estate, and real assets. The role also carries ongoing relationship management responsibilities as new clients are won. This position requires approximately 50% travel and must ultimately be based in the Mid-West.Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Executes a private banking style distribution model specific to U.S. Life Insurers, leveraging intellectual capital across multiple areas of Nuveen.
- Transcends product and delivers the firm holistically when engaging with insurance company stakeholders.
- Understands and communicates complex insurance investment structures and regulations.
- Collaborates effectively with portfolio managers and insurance distribution colleagues, both domestically and globally.
- Oversees the onboarding process for new clients.
- Exceeds client service expectations through proactive and ongoing engagement.
Educational Requirements

- SRC Indicator: Series 7; Series 63

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance investment management, business development, or direct insurance company asset owner experience.
- Demonstrated success in developing relationships, building a pipeline of opportunities, and winning new clients.
- Comprehensive understanding of the features, design, and benefits of Nuveen products, services, and capital markets, or the ability to develop this knowledge.
- FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 required, or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Must be based in, or willing to relocate to, the Mid-West.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in insurance investment management, business development, or direct insurance company asset owner experience.
- BA/BS degree.
- Demonstrated success specifically with Mid-West Life Insurers.
MBA and/or CFA designation

Base Pay Range: $144,000/yr - $202,000/yr
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
